With his cool Nordic looks he’s arrestingly handsome, but there’s more to Skarsgård’s sex appeal than those piercing blue eyes and intense stare. Named Sexiest Man Alive five times in his native Sweden, he made the rest of the world take notice when he landed the role of dangerously alluring vampire Eric in True Blood. Spending much of his screen time naked is no big deal for the 1.93m star, who thanks the long Swedish winters cooped up indoors for his liberal attitudes to sex: “When you’re bored, you just have sex,” he explained. But the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård isn’t interested in being only the onscreen eye candy: “I can’t just be ‘and the hot guy walks into the room.’ It’s not interesting if someone is always perfectly tanned, the air is blow-dried,” the newly single star said. “The only thing that’s important is to make it real.”
